THIBODAUX, La. - After seeing its five-match winning streak come to an end, the Nicholls State University men's tennis team bounced back with a 4-3 win over Alcorn State Friday afternoon at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
Nicholls (6-2) won the doubles point before taking the first three courts in straight sets to clinch the win. Alcorn (3-10) was able to take the bottom half of the singles in straight sets as well, but three of the sets were decided in a tiebreaker while another was stretched to seven points.

Maxwell Lindstedt got things started for the Colonels with a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. A 6-4 victory by

Kotaro Matsumura on the top line secured the point for Nicholls.
Tavares added a singles win by taking both sets at No. 3, 6-3, then Lindstedt followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1. Matsumura gave Nicholls the team win with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 3.
With the match already decided, Alcorn's David Leon, Yangho Park, and Tomas Grime all won their singles matches for the Braves.
