THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Wednesday with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the opening round of the Southland Conference Tournament at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
With the loss, Nicholls finishes with a .500 record at 11-11. The Islanders advance to the semifinals after securing their second win this season against the Colonels.

In singles action, Suarez was the first Islander to finish as he won in straight sets against
Colin Tavares, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2. Marty then followed with a straight-set over Wood at No. 5, taking both sets 6-2.
Needing one more point to clinch, Nicolas Trebuchet ended the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over
Marcell Marki at No. 3.
Although the Colonels did not win a set against AMCC,
Kotaro Matsumura held a 3-0 lead in his second set on the top line against Favier.Â
