Baseball Returns Home to Host Jackson State

THIBODAUX, La.  – After a six-game road trip, the Nicholls State University baseball team will return home to host Jackson State on Tuesday, May 6. First pitch from Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Nicholls (16-30, 9-18 SLC) struggled on their road trip as they dropped five of the six contests with the lone victory coming at UNO on Friday night. The Colonels are looking to build momentum as they are jockeying with multiple teams for the final spots in the upcoming Southland Conference Tournament.

Jackson State (27-17, 14-10 SWAC) enters the matchup flexing a 10-game winning streak with their last loss coming against the Colonels in Mississippi on April 15. In the last three weeks the Tigers have swept SWAC foes Alabama A&M, Alcorn State, and Mississippi Valley State. The streak also included a victory over New Orleans in a game that featured 29 runs.
