THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team will travel to Vicksburg, Mississippi to take on Alcorn on Thursday, August 28. Kickoff from Key City Park is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
Both teams are seeking its first victory of the season as Nicholls (0-2) fought hard but fell 3-2 to ULM. While Alcorn is coming off a 3-1 loss to Northwestern State. Continuing with similarities, both teams enter the contest with two goals scored in two games.
 
The Colonels goals came on a penalty kick by Mylea Riggle and a Sara Sigurdsson free kick that found the bottom right corner of the goal from roughly 25 yards away. The Lady Braves' goals were scored by Michelle Lesmes Diaz and Annick Zouma.
 
For Nicholls, goalkeeper Aislinn Wright has tallied 13 saves on 38 total shots faced while Alcorn's Maria Heuman has four saves on 24 shots faced.
