FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference released its softball schedule which features five home series for the Nicholls State University softball team at "The Swann" .

"We can't wait for 2026 Southland Conference schedule to kickoff, which gives us five home series and four away," said second-year head coach Ron Frost. "Our league has grown over the years and now it's becoming one of the best. We're excited to host five home series down on The Bayou in front of the best fans in the Southland."
 
The Colonel will host Stephen F. Austin (March 6-7), McNeese (March 20-21), East Texas A&M (April 3-4), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 14-15) and Southeastern (April 17-18). Nicholls will travel to Northwestern State, UIW, Lamar, and HCU.

In Frost's debut season, the Colonels posted a 19-8 record in SLC play and were 9-3 at home in league games. Nicholls notched two home sweeps against HCU and Lamar as part of a 16-game winning streak.
 
The 2026 Southland Softball Championship will begin bracket play on the sites of the first- and second-place finishers in the conference standings on April 30 through May 3. That pair of double-elimination tournaments will produce the two combatants for the Southland Championship series set for May 7-9.

The nonconference schedule will be released at a later date.
