THIBODAUX, La. – Due to wintry weather over the weekend, the Nicholls State University men's basketball contest against New Orleans will be on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Tipoff from Stopher Gym will be at 3:30 p.m.
After starting conference play unbeaten, Nicholls (8-12, 7-4 SLC) is looking to stop a four-game slide after dropping a road contest at Southeastern on Saturday. Earlier this season, the Colonels won their fifth consecutive game over the Privateers to give them a 21-12 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1999.
The Colonels' offense features three double figure scorers as
Jaylen Searles who scored at least 20 points in three of the last five games to bring his average 14.7 points.
Jalik Dunkley has reached double figures in his last three games to rise his scoring average to 13.6 while
Sincere Malone led the team in scoring on Saturday and now averages 11.4 points.
UNO (7-13, 5-6 SLC) split their last two contest as they beat Lamar last Monday before dropping a road game at McNeese on Saturday. The Privateers are led by Coleton Benson who averages 15.9 ppg while Jakevion Buckley and MJ Thomas add 13.9 and 11.4 points, respectively.
