THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's and women's cross-country teams combined for 10 representatives on the Southland Conference Cross Country All-Academic Team the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Members of the All-Academic team are nominated by their institution based on athletic performance and must hold at least a 3.25 GPA and have completed in one semester of athletic competition at the nominating institution.
The men's squad that has a cumulative GPA of 3.54 was represented by seniors
William Bellina and
Chase Walker, junior
Alex Hartline, and sophomores
Ty Fraizer and
Brady Sins. Bellina, Walker, and Sins hold 4.0 GPAs while Fraizer and Hartline have a 3.40 and 3.38, respectively.
The women's unit that has a cumulative GPA of 3.50 was represented by senior
Anne De Jong, junior Isabelle Sejihouwer, and sophomores
Kalynn Beacom,
Lotte Aerts, and
Ana Letran Cartes. Aerts holds a 4.0 GPA followed by Seijhouwer (3.92), De Jong (3.90), Beacom (3.70), and Cartes (3.40).

Stefanie Slekis spoke about the teams' accomplishment.
"We are very proud of the continued hard work our student-athletes put into their courses. Not only are they striving to succeed in each class, but they are continuously doing the extra work to prepare for their next step after graduation. It brings me great joy to see our student-athletes not only earn academic honors while competing at a high level, but also graduate and either start their career or continue to graduate or professional school."
