BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Nicholls State University men's and women's track and field teams concluded the indoor regular season by combining for 26 top 10 marks at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Samford University on Friday.

For the second consecutive meet,
Iradi Blasco won the high jump with a personal best 1.71-meter mark.
Jinte Braas placed sixth in the women's high jump with a 1.51m mark.
Benjamin Rodrigue won the men's triple jump after he soared 13.78m. The Colonels had three men record top 10 finishes in the long jump as
Connor Gil took second with a 6.76m leap followed by Rodrigue (4th) who had a 6.45m mark and
Chad Clark Jr. (9th) had 6.12m mark. Baylor Bourgeois threw the shot put 8.56m to place sixth in the men's shot put while
Andrea Tirado tossed the shot put 10.39m to finish 10th in the women's event.

The Colonels also shined on the track as Jonnell Scott placed second in the men's 60m dash after clocking a personal best time of 6.96. He also placed sixth in the 200m race with a personal best time of 22.07.
A'Miah Thomas placed seventh in the 60m dash with a personal best time 7.95 while also placing 10th in the 200m race after clocking a time of 25.63.
Trent Granberry placed seventh in the men's 400m after finishing the race in 51.17 seconds while
Iyauna Vicks placed sixth in the women's 400m race with a personal best time of 58.48.

The Colonel distance runners also put on a clinic as
William Bellina ran the men's 800m race in a personal best time 1:58.45 to place third in the event. In the women's 800m race
Anne De Jong (2:23.78) and
Makayla O'Neal (2:30.43) placed ninth and 10th in the event. The men dominated the one-mile race as
Mason Heffernan (4:40.03),
Alex Hartline (4:33.53),
Preston Mire (4:38.69), and
William Nizzo (4:39.54) placed fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
Issy Rivault (4:58.35) and
Isabelle Seijlhouwer (5:07.92) set personal best times as they finished second and sixth in the women's one mile race.
Payton Theriot (19:00.65),
Lotte Aerts (19:42.74), and
Avery Guidry (20:05.34) placed fifth, seventh, and ninth in the women's 5K.

Nicholls will return to Birmingham to compete in the Southland Conference Indoor Championship on Feb. 25-26.
