THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's basketball team heads back to Texas for its final two road games, starting with a matchup against first-place Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and the game will stream on ESPN+. Monday's road finale at Lamar will be at 6:00 p.m. and the game will air nationally on CBS Sports.
Nicholls (11-16, 10-8 SLC) is coming off a 72-68 loss at HCU last Saturday. The Colonels rallied back from a 14-point second-half deficit and took the lead late but could not hang on for the win, snapping their 12-game win streak in the series.
Despite the loss, the Colonels have six road wins this season including four in Texas. Last year, Nicholls came out on top at SFA with a 94-70 victory. However, the Lumberjacks took the most recent matchup with a 79-62 win in Thibodaux.

Although they have not clinched a postseason spot yet, the Colonels are still in contention for a first-round bye as they are tied for fourth place with two teams. SFA (24-3, 17-1 SLC) has already secured a double-bye and is 2.0 games ahead of McNeese.
Lamar (12-15, 7-11 SLC) trails the Colonels by three games in the standings but has had the upper hand in the series as of late, winning the six. The Cardinals took a 90-80 decision in Thibodaux earlier this season but head into the weekend with a four-game losing skid.
