THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University women's and men's tennis teams swept Copiah-Lincoln Community College, 7-0, in their doubleheader match on Saturday at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.

On the men's side, Felipe Spagnuolo/Mateo De Los Santos and Mitchell Armbruster/Arthur Oliani both earned victories to clinch the doubles point. 

In singles play, Nicholls quickly claimed courts 5 and 6 as Charlie DuBos and Jewan Labuschagne did not allow a point in shutout victories. Mitchell Spence nearly followed suit with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4.

Colin Tavares and Spagnuolo added straight-set wins on the top 2 courts before Mateo De Los Santos secured the sweep with a three-set victory.

For the women, Aada Inna/Paulina Villegas and Blanca Losada/Noemie Piquet came out on top in their matches, 6-2, while Angela Basto/Julia Bordiginon won 6-1 to earn the doubles sweep.

In singles, Piquet and Bordiginon controlled their matches at No. 3 and 4 with shutout victories. Blanca Losada took care of business at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-0 result and Basto won both of her sets at No. 6, 6-1. 

Inna posted a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 2 before Villegas won a hard-fought three-set match, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5, at the No. 1 spot.
