THIBODAUX, La. - With only one game remaining in the regular season, the Nicholls State University men's basketball team still has a lot on the line as the Colonels host McNeese for a nationally-televised broadcast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, March 2 on Broussard Court at Stopher Gymnasium.
Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Chairback seats are expected to be limited at the gate so fans can order tickets ahead of time

Nicholls (13-17, 12-9 SLC) heads into the finale on a two-game winning streak, keeping its hopes for a first-round bye intact for next week's Southland Conference Tournament in Lake Charles. The Colonels are in a three-way tie for fourth place with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and New Orleans. A Nicholls win paired with losses by AMCC and UNO would guarantee a bye for the Colonels. Any other scenario would result in tiebreakers based on Monday's results across the league.
The Colonels took on McNeese on the road on Jan. 12 and were handed their first SLC loss, 94-68. Nicholls won the first seven Southland games for its second-best start since joining the league but it came to a screeching halt with a double-digit loss to the Cowboys.
McNeese (25-5, 18-3 SLC) is the league's hottest team, bringing a seven-game winning streak to Thibodaux. The Cowboys have secured a top-2 seed, which comes with a double bye, and still have a chance to claim a share of the regular season title with a win and an SFA loss.
Nicholls took the previous matchup in Thibodaux, 71-63, last season which was the lone loss for McNeese in league play.
Jaylen Searles posted a double-double in the win with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while
Sincere Malone added 10 points.
