THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's and women's track and field teams will begin its 2026 outdoor season by competing at the Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana in Lafayette on March 20-21.
 
Nicholls had a strong showing during the indoor season. The indoor action was highlighted Iradi Blasco who earned the bronze medal in the women's high jump at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
 
The Colonels' other points at the SLC Indoor Championships came in distance races on the track. Issy Rivault placed eighth in the women's 5000m race after clocking a time of 17:23.68. Rivault later teamed up with Anne De Jong, Isabelle Seijlhouwer, and Iyauna Vicks to clock a time of 12:11.89 to place eighth in the women's 4000m distance medley.
