BATON ROUGE, La. – The Nicholls State University track and field teams had a strong showing against a loaded field in the 2026 Alumni Gold meet hosted by LSU on April 25.
The Colonels excelled on the track as
Isabelle Seijlhouwer and
Issy Rivault finished fourth and fifth in the women's 1500-meter race with times of 4:32.92 and 4:33.97, respectively. Nisaiah Bennett finished ninth in the men's 100m dash as he clocked a time of 10.41. He also took seventh in the 200m dash as he finished with a time of 20.67.
Bennett later joined
Connor Gil, Jonnell "Deuce" Scott and
Callahan Leahy to set the school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.59 to place seventh in the event.
Trent Granberry and
William Bellina joined Leahy and Scott to place ninth in the men's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:27.15.
The Red & Gray performed well in the field as
Iradi Blasco posted the seventh best mark amongst college competitors in the women's high jump (1.68m). Gill posted a 7.13m mark in the men's long jump to claim seventh place to round out the highlights in the field.
