THIBODAUX, La. – After a week off, the Nicholls State University will return to action at the LSU Twilight Relay Invitational in Baton Rouge on Friday, Sept. 18. The men's race at LSU's UREC Field Complex will begin at 7:15 p.m. while the women's race will start at 8 p.m.
The Colonels began the season strong at the Battle for New Orleans earlier this month. Both teams had multiple people finish in the top 50.
Nicholls men's squad had six runners finish within the top 50 as
Mason Heffernan was the first Colonel to cross the finish line with a time of 16:06.5.
William Nizzo (16.34.9) was next followed by
Elvin Lobo (17:08.4),
Brady Sins (17:10.9),
Noah Richard (17:43.7),
Alex Hartline (17:44.7), and
Christian Rowe (17:49) who placed 31st, 40th, 42nd, 48th, 49, and 50th .
The women's squad had five runners finish within the top 50 as
Issy Rivault led the way clocking a time of 15:54.6 to place 36th.
Ana Letran Cartes placed 42nd with a time of 16:10, followed by
Lotte Aerts (16:16.1),
Emelia Hope (16:23.2), and
Emily Ward (16:56) who placed 43rd, 44th, and 50th.
