NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Nicholls State University men's and women's teams began the season by placing fifth and sixth, respectively in the Battle for New Orleans, hosted by Tulane and LSU New Orleans on Friday afternoon.
Nicholls men's squad had six runners finish within the top 50 as
Mason Heffernan was the first Colonel to cross the finish line with a time of 16:06.5.
William Nizzo (16.34.9) was next followed by
Elvin Lobo (17:08.4),
Brady Sins (17:10.9),
Noah Richard (17:43.7),
Alex Hartline (17:44.7), and
Christian Rowe (17:49) who placed 31st, 40th, 42nd, 48th, 49, and 50th .
The women's squad had five runners finish within the top 50 as
Issy Rivault led the way clocking a time of 15:54.6 to place 36th.
Ana Letran Cartes placed 42nd with a time of 16:10, followed by
Lotte Aerts (16:16.1),
Emelia Hope (16:23.2), and
Emily Ward (16:56) who placed 43rd, 44th, and 50th.
