At Eastern Washington: As a sophomore, was named Big Sky Player of the Week after two wins over nationally ranked opponents Saint Marys and Boise State... played in the top 3 for the Eagles and earned a 5-3 record in conference going 2-2 at the No. 1 position and 3-1 at the No. 2 position.... as a freshman , went 13-2 overall in doubles, including a 7-1 mark in Big Sky Conference action... the 13 wins tied the fourth-best single-season performance in school history and was the best overall record of all pairs in the league in 2011... played nine singles matches, earning a 6-3 record... went undefeated in BSC duals, which included wins over the top two teams in the league in Sac State and Northern Arizona.

Bio: Born on April 1, 1991... son of Richard and Ellen Russell... majoring in business management... played No. 1 for all three years for Juanita High School and qualified for state each year... placed fifth his senior year in the 3A Washington State tournament... as a junior, lost only one match and it was in the finals of the 4A Washington State tournament... received the MVP award all three years.
