2015 Season (Senior): Made 27 appearances on the mound, serving as the team's closer... posted a 1.11 ERA in 32.1 innings pitching, going 3-1 with a single-season program record 15 saves... his saves tied for sixth in the NCAA... allowed just five runs while striking out 36 batters... issued just seven walks... threw 1.2 hitless innings to earn save at LSU... picked up save in victory over Louisiana... notched two saves in the series win over Utah... had a combined nine strikeouts in back-to-back saves against UIW... named ABCA All-America Third Team, All-Region, Southland Relief Pitcher of the Year, All-Southland First Team, and All-Louisiana Second Team... also a Southland All-Academic selection.

2014 Season (Junior): Made 24 appearances in his first season as a Colonel, tossing 32 innings with 37 strikeouts and posting a 2.53 ERA… Held opponents to a .207 batting average while allowing 24 hits and nine earned runs with four saves on the season… Tossed three innings against BYU on March 6… Threw six strikeouts against Western Illinois on Feb. 20… Faced 12 batters against the University of Houston on Feb.14.

Prior to Nicholls:

At Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College: As a sophomore compiled a record of 4-5 with a 3.76 earned run average in 45 innings of work... His freshman season was 4-6 on the mound with a 3.34 ERA in 52 innings.

At Vancleave High School: Was 7-3 as a senior with a 0.93 ERA and 121 strikeouts in 75 total innings pitched.. Was a two-time all-district selection as a junior and senior as well as an All-Mississippi player, earning a spot on the Crossroads All-Star Game.

Personal: Full name is Jonathan Stuart Holmes, born Jan. 5 in Vancleave, Miss... Son of Hal and Cindy Holmes... Has two older siblings in Robby and Drew... Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies.
