Biography
2015 (Junior): Played in all 28 matches with 25 starts over her junior campaign, taking the court in 98 sets on the year... Finished the season with 192 kills, 88 digs, 54 blocks and six service aces... Had a career-high 15 kills against Mercer (Aug. 29) and a season-high 12 digs against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Oct. 22)... Had a season-high four blocks on four occasions.
2014 (Sophomore): Played in 30 matches and 106 sets over her sophomore season with the Colonels, earning 24 starts... Finished the year with 250 kills, 174 digs, 13 assists and five blocks... Had a season-high six blocks against McNeese on Nov. 15... Had a season-high six service aces against Houston Baptist on Oct. 25.
2013 (Freshman): Played in 26 matches and 84 sets in her first season with the Colonels, earning 15 starts... Finished the year with 145 kills, 86 digs, 11 assists and eight blocks... Accumulated 163 points on the season... Had her best game against South Alabama, notching 13 kills and eight digs on Sept. 13.
Prior to Nicholls:
At Steele Canyon High School: Was a two-sport athlete for the Cougars, starting all four years on the volleyball court, while spending three years as a starter on the softball team... Was a two-time league champion on the court and the diamond... Was a four-time all-league selection... Played volleyball under former Olympic Gold Medalist Karolyn Kirby... As a senior, hit .300 at the net with 231 kills, 264 digs, 55 blocks and 53 service aces, while also becoming the California Interscholastic Federation's all-time leader in service aces in a match with 18 earning her the Steele Canyon Volleyball MVP and Player of the Year award... Was on the principal's list for four years, earning multiple scholar athlete awards, including being twice named to the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team in both volleyball and softball.
Personal: Full name is Karoline RaeAnne Schwartz, born July 14 in La Jolla, Calif... Daughter of Mark and Becki Schwartz... Has one younger brother, Kenny... Comes from a long line of standout athletes as her great grandfather Douglas played football at UCLA in the 30's, grandfather Randy who played football and baseball for the Bruins becoming an All-American and playing for the Kansas City A's in the 60's before entering the UCLA Hall of Fame, uncle Brian who played baseball for UCLA in the mid-80's and mom Becki who played basketball then volleyball in college for Mt. St. Mary's... Majoring in accounting.
