The logos outline is shaped in style of the River Bell Classic, the annual rivalry between the Nicholls and Southeastern

'50' Font and Outline -- Classic Nicholls Red & Grey Outline
The 50th Year font is styled to represent the classic Nicholls State University logo as well as feature the renowned Red & Gray color scheme

Five Lines of the Football -- Championship Recognition
The five lines of the football (four vertical & one horizontal) symbolize the conference championships won by Nicholls across 50 years on the gridiron
In chronological order, those championships are: the 1975 and 1984 Gulf South Conference Championships along with the 2005, 2018 and 2019 Southland Conference Championships

Gap in the Football -- An Honor to Those Lost
The gap in the completion of the football serves as a remainder of all of the alumni and members of the Nicholls Family throughout the years who have passed away
The contributions of this community and alumni base are forever
