Austin Flores was promoted to Camp Coordinator and an assistant infielders and catchers coach following the 2015 season.
Flores helped coach the Colonels to back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since 1992-93.
Flores returned to Nicholls as a student assistant coach for the 2014 season after spending the summer as a scout for PerfectGame USA.
Flores, who finished his playing career in a Colonel uniform in 2012 was a part of two Southland Conference tournament teams, including the 2011 team that made it all the way to the tournament semifinals.
While working with PerfectGame, Flores was a scout who evaluated players during national tournaments and showcases, including having duties as field supervisor during those tournaments.
Also this summer, Flores was a scout for the under 15 east showcase for Team USA, helping evaluate players during scout days and tournaments. He helped scout the U.S. team that won gold at the COPABE Pan AMerican Championship against Cuba.
Flores got some experience at the high school level in his home state of Florida, serving as the head coach of the junior varsity squad while being an assistant for the varsity team. He served as the infield and hitting coach for the varsity team, while organizing the practice schedule and game preparation.
Flores resides in Thibodaux.
