Macky Waguespack begins his first season with the Colonels serving as the strength coach. He is responsible for overseeing the strength and conditioning of the baseball program.

Waguespack played baseball at Southeastern  Louisiana University from 1995-1999 and was selected First Team All-American in 1999 by Baseball Weekly and the College Baseball Coaches Association. He currently holds the all time Southland Conference record for homeruns in a career.

Waguespack went on to play Independent Professional Baseball over four years before becoming the head baseball coach at East St. John High School from 2001-2005. From there, Waguespack became the
became the assistant baseball and football coach at St. Charles Catholic High School from 2007-2010. He coached his team in three state championships.
