Prior to Nicholls:

At Mississippi Delta Community College: Batted .331 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 35 runs scored in 45 games for the Trojans, earning all-state honors.

At Russell County High School: Set the Alabama state record for the longest hitting streak at 39 games, being named all-state in Class 6A as a sophomore and junior and in Class 5A as a senior.
