Biography

2012 (Senior): Played in 107 games in a Colonel uniform, making 105 starts… Has a .332 career batting average (136-for-410) driving in 78 RBI with 18 doubles, a triple and five home runs, while being driven in 60 times with eight career stolen bases… Named second team all-conference and second team all-Louisiana as a senior… Led the team in batting average with a .368 clip (68-for-185) and .486 slugging percentage with eight doubles, a triple and four home runs… Led the team in RBI with 40 and third in runs with 30… Stole six bases on nine attempts… Had a 15-game hitting streak at the end of the season, his second double-digit hitting streak of the season, which was the longest for any Colonel in the season and the longest of his career… Was named LSWA Offensive Player of the Week May 13… Reached base in 28 consecutive games, the longest for any player… He returned to the lineup after an injury and registered 53 hits, 14 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI contests… Had his streak of consecutive games started snapped against Sam Houston, ending at 76 straight games... Has started ten games in left field, once at first base and 37 as DH, appearing in 50 games total… Has four home runs on the year, coming against ULM, UTA, Lamar and Alcorn State… Has six games with three hits and 16 games with two… Plated a career-high four runs against UTSA, while driving in three runs against ULM and UTA and has driven in at least two in 11 games… Was walked a career high four times against Lamar.

Recorded his first hit as a Colonel as part of a 3-for-4 day on Feb. 19 at Louisiana Tech ... Drove in his first runs as a Colonel with a pair of RBI on Feb. 22 at UL-Lafayette ... Logged 17 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games and one of only two four-hit games by a Colonel all year ... Drove in multiple runs on seven different occasions, including five two-RBI games and two three-RBI games ... Was 4-for-6 with two runs scored and an RBI against Central Arkansas on April 17 ... Recorded his first three RBI game on April 15 against UCA, going 3-for-5 and driving in three runs ... Notched his second three-RBI performance on May 8 at Southeastern La., going 2-for-3 with three RBI ... Hit safely in eight straight games from Feb. 19 through March 1, going 13-for-31 (.419 BA) over the stretch ... Hit .350 (43-for-123) with a home runs, six doubles, 24 RBI and 16 runs scored over the final 30 games of the season ... Hit .455 (4-for-11) with three RBI and two runs scored to lead Nicholls to a three-game sweep of McNeese State in the final series of the regular season, drove in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning with an RBI single to score Bear Comer giving Nicholls a 4-3 win over McNeese on May 21 to clinch consecutive Southland Conference Tournament appearances for the first time in school history ... Hit .500 (4-for-8) in the first two games of the 2011 Southland Conference Tournament, driving in three runs and scoring once to lead Nicholls to a 2-2 record and a trip to the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament ... Made six relief appearances out of the Nicholls bullpen, allowing just three earned runs over 9.1 IP for a 2.89 ERA ... Did not allow and earned run in four of six outings ... Made his debut on the mound on Feb. 20 against Southern Illinois, allowing two runs on three hits over 1.1 IP ... Delivered 3.0 IP of scoreless relief on April 12, limiting South Alabama to no runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two in his longest relief outing of the season ... Struck out seven batters and walked five for a 1.4 K/BB ratio and a  6.75 K/9.0 IP mark ... Did not earn any decisions or saves on the mound.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (2009-10): 
Earned all-state and all-region honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Long Beach High School:  Chosen to play in the Bancorp East and West All-Star Game following his senior year.

Personal: One of Johnny and Karen Buckley's five children.
