At Ascension Catholic: Was a two-time LCBA 1A All-State selection and earned LSWA 1A All-State honorable mention twice... repeated as an All-Region First Team honoree... named to the LBCA All-Star Team... helped lead the Bulldogs to a district title and a state quarterfinal appearance in 2021... in his senior season, Bulldogs went 23-8 during the regular season and claimed another District 7-1A championship.

Personal: Birthday is October 6... parents are Marci and Jason Melancon.... father played baseball at Delgado Community College in New Orleans... has an older sister, Layne, and a younger brother, Layton... majoring in business administration.
