2013 (Junior): Made 19 appearances on the mound for Nicholls, earning a 1-3 record in 22.1 innings of relief work... Had an earned run average of 3.63, allowing nine runs, eight earned, on 12 hits with 13 strikeouts and eight walks... Went three innings against the Brown Bears, striking out three... Pitched three innings against Stephen F. Austin, giving up a hit and a walk... Struck out three batters in just 1.2 innings of work against South Alabama.

Prior to Nicholls:

At LSU-Eunice: Was a member of the 57-5 NJCAA Champion Bengals squad in his only season in Eunice in 2012... Hit 328 in 62 games on the year, with 43 hits, seven doubles 30 RBI and 26 runs scored and a home run... Was walked 17 times and had a .418 on-base percentage... Defensively had a .962 fielding percentage with only nine errors... Pitched five complete innings allowing two runs on five hits with two strikeouts, two walks and a 3.60 ERA... Was awarded the Exemplary Academic Achievement award by the NJCAA for finishing with a 3.61 GPA.

At Louisiana Tech: Appeared in five games making two starts for the Bulldogs, going 5-for-10 on the season with three RBI, three runs scored and a double... Made 14 appearances on the mound with one start, logging 15.1 complete innings with a 1-0 record.

At St. Charles Catholic: Was a standout baseball player for the Comets under Paul Waguespack... As a senior was a first team all-state, metro, river parishes and all-district performer earning district MVP honors... Junior season capped by a second state runner-up finish along with being name first team all-district, river parishes, metro and all-state... Was the Class 3A Player of the Year as a sophomore, while earning another District MVP... A a freshman was first team all-district and MVP as the Comets finished as state runner-up... Was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Full name is Marco John Picciola, born May 19 in Destrehan, La... Parents are Joe and Ella Picciola, and has twin younger sisters Eimly and Elizabeth... Majoring in general studies with a minor in mathematics.
