    Tight Ends/Co-Special Teams Coordinator
Andrew Neupert returned to Nicholls State University for the 2023 season, serving as tight ends coach. In addition to coaching tight ends, he was named Co-Special Teams Coordinator in 2024.

As Neupert aided the offensive run-game coordination in conjunction with analyzing opponent defensive scheme and philosophy, the 2023 season boasted unprecedented achievements for the Colonels. Nicholls finished the year as undefeated Southland Conference champions for the first time in school history. Their rushing offense led the league standings in conference play as they averaged 5.2 yards per carry with over 1,300 yards in only six games. Supporting the championship efforts, tight end Lee Negrotto earned All-Southland Second Team honors as a dominant blocker and receiver who averaged over 10 yards per catch on the season.

Neupert spent the 2022 season at Georgia Southern University coaching outside linebackers as a graduate assistant. There, he helped the Eagles reach bowl eligibility with a season that included a road victory against Power 5 opponent Nebraska. The outside linebacker group generated double digit sacks, tackles for loss, two interceptions, and Sunbelt All-Conference Honors for Senior Justin Ellis.

During the 2021 season, Neupert worked with the LSU defensive line as a graduate assistant where he coached 2022 NFL draftees Neil Farrell Jr, (DT/4thRound) and Andre Anthony (DE/7th  Round) along with 2023 NFL draftees BJ Ojulari (DE/2nd Round) and Jaquelin Roy (DT/5th Round). The Tigers defense finished the year tied 24th in the nation with 38 total sacks and tied for 12th in the nation with 98 total tackles for loss to lead them to bowl eligibility.

Before arriving at LSU, Neupert coached the 2020 season at Tulane University as a defensive graduate assistant. There he helped the Green Wave defense gain national rankings of third most sacks and tackles for loss in the regular season. Neupert also coached NFL draftee Cam Sample (DE/4th Round) during his senior season. In 2020, Sample earned first-team All-AAC Conference honors and a PFF All-American Honorable Mention.

In 2019, Neupert served as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

During his lone season at ULM, Neupert helped direct the Warhawks to 20 sacks which tied for fourth in the Sun Belt. He also coached 2021 undrafted free agent Defensive End Ty Shelby (Los Angeles Chargers) and Sun Belt All-Conference honorees Larance Shaw and Donald Louis.

Prior to his tenure at ULM, Neupert spent two seasons at Millsaps College where he served as the inside linebackers coach for the 2017 and 2018 season. There he coached two-time SAA All-Conference linebacker Reid Evans and second-team SAA All-Conference linebacker Chandler Coleman.

Neupert joined the Majors after spending one season at Nicholls. While at Nicholls, he aided the defensive staff with film breakdown and assisted with coaching the defensive backfield unit that led the Southland Conference in interceptions.

Before arriving at Nicholls, Neupert coached the offensive line at his alma mater, Archbishop Rummel High School in Louisiana in 2015. He helped lead the Raiders to a phenomenal 11-2 season where they were New Orleans Catholic League champions, Louisiana state champion runners-up, and they were nationally ranked in the top 25 by both USA Today and Max Preps.

In 2013, Neupert began his coaching career with the Archbishop Rummel’s Junior High football team where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. That team finished the season with a 7-2-1 record and pitched four consecutive shutouts to opposing offenses. Also in 2013, Neupert spent the spring and summer working as a football operations intern with the Arena Football League’s New Orleans VooDoo.

A native to New Orleans, Neupert graduated from the Tulane University in 2021, with a master’s degree in sport studies and University of New Orleans in 2016, with his bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
