Charles Boyd

Charles Boyd is in his first season with the Colonel football progarm, serving as inside linebackers coach.

Boyd joined Nicholls after spending two seasons at Indiana University as special teams quality control. While he was at IU, the Hoosiers ranked first in the Big Ten in kickoffs, second in punt returns and had an All-Big Ten Kicker, Mitch Ewald.

Prior to his time at Indiana, Boyd spent one season in the same capacity at the University of Cincinnati after coaching the running backs at Marietta College in 2010.

He also coached in the high school ranks in Cincinnati, spending 2006 at Taft before serving as defensive/special teams coordinator at Woodward from 2008-09. 

Boyd was a two-time NAIA All-American linebacker at Urbana University after leading the league in tackles in three consecutive seasons. A three-time All-Mid-States Football Association honoree, Boyd started his playing career as a running back at Miami (Ohio) University.

While at Urbana, Boyd earned a bachelor's degree in business computer systems.Â
