Marcus Scott is in his first season with the Nicholls State University football program as defensive backs coach.
Scott, a native of New Orleans, comes to Nicholls after serving as head coach at West Jefferson High (La.) from 2008-13. During his tenure, the Buccaneers posted a 38-26 record, reached the playoffs in each season and claimed two district titles – in 2008 and 2009. After serving as an assistant coach under Hank Tierney at West Jefferson in 2007, Scott was promoted to head coach in 2008.
A graduate of Jesuit, Scott started his coaching career as an assistant at Clark High in New Orleans. He then coached three years at his alma mater under Vic Eumont before taking a position at B.F. Terry High School in Rosenburg, Texas.
Scott played collegiate football at McNeese State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000.
