2012 Season (Senior): Named Southland Conference All-Academic... started all 11 games at center... garnered Jim Hunter Male Colonel Pride Award for second straight year.

2011 Season (Junior):  Started all five games on the offensive line before suffering a season-ending leg injury… received the 2012 Jim Hunter Male Colonel Pride Award. 

2010 Season (Sophomore): Appeared in 10 games on the offensive line which included seven starts.

2009 Season (Freshman): Played in every game for the Colonels on the offensive line after making the switch from the defensive side in fall camp… received two starts with one being at left tackle.

At Fontainebleau: Was a three-year starter for the Bulldogs... helped guide the team to a District 7-5A Championship his senior season... best season came as a senior with 49 tackles (26 solo) that included 15 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hurries and one recovered fumble... named First Team All-District in 2007 and 2008... came to Nicholls with teammate Darrell Brown.

Personal: Born on May 17, 1990 in New Orleans, La... son of Shawn and Koz Gruenig... has an older brother named Max and a younger brother named Sam... majoring in mass communications.
