2019 Season (Senior): Appeared in all 14 games, starting at linebacker... named All-Southland Second Team... recorded the second most tackles on the team with 100, ranking 11th in the Southland with 7.1 per game... totaled 53 solo stops and 6.0 for loss... had 2.0 sacks... recorded back-to-back career games with 12 tackles against Abilene Christian and UIW... recorded sacks against Central Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana... had an interception and 10 tackles at Stephen F. Austin... forced a fumble against Northwestern State and recovered one against McNeese.

2018 Season (Junior): Played in all 13 games at linebacker... totaled 43 tackles with 23 solo... had 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks... broke up three passes... racked up a season-high 11 tackles in win over Sam Houston State... finished with three tackles and a sack in win at Kansas... recorded seven stops and a breakup at Northwestern State... in victory against UIW, had three tackles, two fumble recoveries and two pass breakups... had 0.5 sacks at Tulane.

2017 Season (Sophomore): Saw action in 11 games, starting in six at the SAM position... had 22 tackles (8 solo)... recorded 2.0 tackles for loss... racked up a season-high seven tackles at UIW... also had his first career interception against the Cardinals, returning in 57 yards for a touchdown... broke up a pass against Prairie View. 

2016 Season (Freshman): Played in all 11 games as a true freshman... played on special teams and was a backup at linebacker... recorded 12 tackles (eight solo), including 0.5 for loss... had four tackles against Sam Houston State.

At University: Was a three-year starter for the Cubs… named Class 3A LFCA First-Team and LSWA All-State honorable mention as a senior… received First-team All-District 6-3A as an athlete and second-team defense… helped lead his squad to a 10-2 record, an undefeated 7-0 in district play and an appearance in the state semifinals… named team’s defensive MVP…  helped lead University to state championship in 2014… team won four straight undefeated district titles… played for head coach Chad Mahaffey.

Personal: Born Feb. 8, 1998... son of Larry and Debbie James... has a brother, Larry, and two sisters, Ladira and Ladaya... majoring in business administration.
