2010 Season: Did not play.

As a junior (2009): Played in all 11 games for the Colonels at defensive end, starting 10 of them… Had a total of 27 tackles that includes 13 solo stops, 4.5 tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks… Also forced two fumbles, recovered one, and had an interception and a pass breakup to his credit… His lone interceptions came against Northwestern State… Had a career high seven tackles against the Air Force Academy… Best performance came against Duquesne with three tackles (two solo), 1.5 for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

At Ventura CC: Played two seasons at Ventura CC... As a sophomore had 62 tackles, 12 for a loss, 10 sacks, four fumble recoveries and three forced... As a freshman had 60 total tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles... Comes to Nicholls with teammate Ed James... Prepped at South Dade High with current Colonel Antonio Robinson.

Personal - Marquis Carlton Russell was born on August 15, 1989 in Savannah, Ga... Son of Tamara Jones and Jason Graves... Has two older siblings named Anthony Russell and Tremayne Russell and a younger one named Jaire Graves... Majoring in General Studies.
