2012 Season (Junior): Played in 10 games... was fourth on the team with 50 tackles (36 solo)... had 3.5 tackles for loss... recorded an interception against Evangel, going for 31 yards... broke up two passes... had a season-high 10 tackles in opener against South Alabama, also forced a fumble.

2011 Season (Sophomore): Named All-Southland honorable mention… started all 11 games at safety… finished second on the team in tackles with 65 (40 solo)… had 3.5 for loss… led the team in solo tackles… forced a team-high five fumbles… broke up four passes… his only sack of the year forced a fumble at Louisiana-Lafayette… best outing came against Western Michigan where he recorded 11 total tackles, recovered a fumble and broke up a pass.

2010 Season (Freshman): Saw action in all 11 games including six starts… had 37 tackles (22 solo) with one for loss… best game came against Sam Houston State where he had eight tackles (five solo) and an interception… broke up four passes.

At Westgate: Lettered four years… led his team to the semi-final round of the state playoffs his senior season... named All-District First Team and All-Acadiana Second Team in 2009... had a total of 71 tackles, five tackles for a loss, two interceptions, three pass breakups and a forced fumble his senior campaign... also served as the team's place kicker, notching a career long of 52 yards...earned the team's Tiger Award in 2009... also an All-District selection in baseball... member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born on December 7, 1991 in New Iberia, La… son of Angela and James Vergenal… has on brother named Skye that played soccer at Centenary… majoring in business management.
