Mike Czepil

Mike Czepil, a native of Hoppers Crossing, Australia, enters his second season as an assistant on the Colonel coaching staff after concluding his playing career at Nicholls.  As a freshman in 2005-06, Czepil started 26 of Nicholls' 27 contests and finishd second on the team in rebounds (100) and assists (57) while finishing fourth on the squad with a 7.0 point/game scoring average. 

After receiving a medical redshirt in 2006-07, Czepil returned to the Colonels in 2007-08, playing 13 games, shooting an impressive .481 from the floor (51-for-106) and .385 from three-point range (25-for-65) before a knee injury ended his season. 

As a junior in 2008-09, Czepil played in 20 games for the Colonels and helped Nicholls to its first Southland Conference Tournament appearance since the 2000-01 season.  Czepil teamed with fellow Australians Ryan Bathie, Dominic Friend and Anatoly Bose to help Nicholls compile a 20-11 record and a 12-4 conference mark en route to a No. 2 seed and a trip to the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals. 

Czepil suffered another knee injury following his junior year, this time electing to sit out his senior year of competition to recover and finish his degree at Nicholls.
