Nick Bowman

Nick Bowman was hired as an assistant coach for the Nicholls State University men’s basketball program in July 2018, and earned promotion to Associate Head Coach in Aug. 2021.
 
Bowman joins the Colonels coaching staff following a three-year stint as Clemson’s director of recruiting. The Tigers earned a No. 5 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, upsetting No. 4 Auburn for an appearance in the Sweet 16. Clemson concluded the 2017-18 campaign with 25 wins, and Bowman served as the lead offensive game planner during its successful run.
 
The Tigers earned a No. 2 seed in the 2017 NIT Tournament and won 10 conference games for the fifth time in program history during the 2015-16 season. Those 10 wins included No. 8 Miami, No. 9 Duke, No. 16 Louisville and No. 23 Pittsburgh.
 
Bowman coached All-ACC First Team players Jaron Blossomgame, Gabe DeVoe and Marcquise Reed. He also heavily recruited Clemson’s 2016-17 signing class, which featured multiple four-star student-athletes. Additionally, Bowman coordinated the master recruiting plan, maintained a player database and worked with the compliance office in all recruiting matters.
 
Bowman also spent one season as the director of operations at Eastern Kentucky University (2014-15), an operations assistant at the University of Tennessee (2013-14), a graduate assistant for EKU (2012-13) and an assistant coach for the University of Pikeville (2011-12).
 
Bowman earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education (2010) and master’s degree in sports administration (2013) from EKU. He is married to Kayla Bowman, who is also from South Webster, Ohio.
