2017-18 (Senior): Appeared in all 32 games, starting six … The Colonels’ most dangerous long-range threat, knocking down a program-record 97 threes on the season and 11 in a contest at McNeese (Feb. 21) … One of two Division I student-athletes to knock down 10-plus treys in a game on two separate occasions as he also drained 10 against UMBC (Nov. 24) … Ranked atop the SLC in three-point field-goal percentage (40.4) and second in threes per game (3.03) … Totaled 323 points (10.1 ppg) … Added 44 rebounds, 20 steals and 14 assists.

2016-17 (Junior): Appeared in 19 games, making his lone start Feb. 2 at Southeastern … Tallied 208 points, 21 rebounds, five assists and five steals … Contributed 414 minutes (21.8 per game) … Scored double digits nine times including a career-high 29 at UCA (Feb. 11) … Shot 37.7 percent (57-151) from beyond the arc … Totaled 62 field goals at a 38.3 percent clip.

Southwest Mississippi CC: Averaged 13.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Southwest Mississippi, while shooting a solid 47.6% from the floor and 42.8% from three-point range... Posted a +1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio and was proficient at the free throw line, knocking down 84.8% of his attempts... Inducted into the Southwest Mississippi Academic Hall of Fame.
 
Gautier High School: Named All-District, District MVP and received All-State honors... Member of the All-Coast team and played in the North vs. South All-Star Game... Took all honors classes and received a Who’s Who academic scholarship for his efforts in the classroom.
 
Personal: Son of Leonard and Rose Rutledge, Lafayette was born on August 4 in Pascagoula, Miss.... He has one brother, Lionel... Lafayette will major in Business Management and hopes to play in the NBA post-graduation.
