Sid Sivakumar is in his first season with the Nicholls tennis coaching staff after playing for the men's team for three seasons.
At Nicholls, Sivakumar was part of the 2012 team that reached the Southland conference championship finals and ranked 71 in the nation.
"I am honored to work with the current players on the teams. They are exceptional tennis players with great work ethic. Hard work and dedication is a key trait everyone possesses," Sivakumar said. "My main goal is to get them better as a team and lead them to win the Southland conference, which is something I couldn't achieve with my old team, but I strongly believe that they will."
Prior to Nicholls, Sivakumar redshirted as a freshman at Louisiana-Lafayette. Before attending ULL, he was ranked top 5 in the juniors in India and held an international ranking of 252 in the world. He posted a a 42-15 career doubles record and won the All India National doubles championships. He trained at the Nick Bolleitieiri Tennis academy in Florida and worked as a tennis coach at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in Texas.
Sivakumar graduated with a degree in business from Nicholls in 2014 and is currently pursuing his MBA. His hobbies include cricket, soccer and listening to house music and classic rock.
