Catherine Blanchard enters her third season with the Nicholls women's basketball program.
Blanchard was a part of Plaisance’s inaugural women’s basketball staff in 2008-2009.
In the 2009-2010 academic year, Blanchard took a break from the basketball court to expand her knowledge with NCAA rules and regulations through the Athletic Academic Services office. While here, she was able to work with coaches and student athletes from every sport to maintain athletes’ success in the classroom. Before the 2010-11 season, Blanchard returned to the sidelines as an assistant coach.
Blanchard came to Nicholls from Loyola-New Orleans, where she played for Plaisance and helped guide the Wolfpack to back-to-back Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships in 2007 and 2008, while serving as team captain. Blanchard excelled off the court as well for the Wolfpack, as she was named a scholar athlete in 2007 and 2008, and made the Dean's List every semester.
Prior to attending Loyola, Blanchard prepped at E.D. White Catholic High School in Thibodaux, La., and still stands as the school's all-time leading scorer. For the Cardinals, she served as team captain her senior season, and led E.D. White to the regional round of the state playoffs for the first time in 26 years.
She holds her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans, achieving a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Management in 2008. Blanchard went on to obtain her Master’s of Business Administration from Nicholls State University in May 2010. The 25-year old currently resides in Thibodaux, La.
