Frank DeCarlo, LAT, ATC, rejoined Nicholls Athletics in the fall of 2019.
DeCarlo is responsible for the overall care and rehabilitation of the Nicholls State University Women’s Basketball program and Colonel Tennis. Previously as a graduate assistant, DeCarlo worked with women's soccer and was the assitant trainer for men's basketball.
Prior to his employment at Nicholls, DeCarlo served as an athletic training intern at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center in the spring of 2015. While at Thibodaux Regional, DeCarlo assisted with Nicholls State University athletics, primarily with Tennis, Soccer, and Basketball.
Before his time with Thibodaux Regional, DeCarlo was a 2015 graduate of Florida Southern College where he worked as a student athletic trainer for numerous sports, in a variety of settings. During his time at Florida Southern, DeCarlo worked with the Florida Southern soccer, lacrosse, tennis, swimming, cross country, and volleyball teams. DeCarlo also worked at the NAIA level while at Florida Southern and spent a semester at Webber International University working with the football team. DeCarlo has also interned at North Port High School, Charlotte High School, and Charlotte Regional Medical Center.
DeCarlo holds Louisiana licensure, BOC certification and CPR/AED certification. He is a member of the National Athletic Training Association and the Southeast Athletic Training Association.
DeCarlo has also been a Special Olympics Coach the last nine years and is very active in the special needs community.
