A former NSCAA All-American, scholar All-American and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year at Trinity University, Brianna Young Pickenpaugh joined the Colonels in 2012.
In 2014, Pickenpaugh helped coach Nicholls to the first victories in program history against both Southern Mississippi and Southeastern Louisiana. The Colonels also reached their second-consecutive Southland Conference Tournament and secured the first postseason win in school history.
In 2013, Nicholls claimed its first winning season and a program-record 12 victories, with six coming in conference play alone. The Colonels finished 12-6-2 and made it back to the Southland Conference tournament for the first time since 2004.
In 2012, Pickenpaugh helped took a young team with only two seniors to a 5-13 overall record. On the season, the 29 goals the Colonels scored was one shy of tying an all-time season record, while the 4.44 points per game average was the highest in team history.
Prior to Nicholls, Pickenpaugh spent one year on the staff at Davis and Elkins College.
With over 70 games played collegiately, Pickenpaugh was a standout athlete and student at TU, where she scored over 37 goals and amassed 15 assists and 89 points during her four years as a Tiger. She graduated from Trinity earning her B.A. in English.
A native of Rockville Center, N.Y., Pickenpaugh was a two-time all-SCAC first team selection after winning the conference championship with a perfect 16-0-0 regular season record and advancing to the Division III quarterfinals in her senior season.
Pickenpaugh was second on the team in goals that year with 14, which was the second best mark in the league that season, along with being second in game-winning goals with six. She finished the year leading the conference with 37 points, averaging nearly two points per contest, and in assists with nine.
Pickenpaugh resides in Thibodaux with her husband Ryan. The couple was married on April 4, 2015.
