Alyse Barclay 2017

Alyse Barclay

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant Coach
Barclay concluded her collegiate career as a senior with the Colonels in 2016 and transitioned into her new role as the team’s graduate assistant coach.

“I am always happy to have one of our own join the coaching staff,” Harold said. “Alyse has proven as a player that she is mature beyond her years and I think she will make a smooth transition to the coaching side of the things. In her playing days she was a calming influence on those around her, made excellent choices and worked hard every day to improve. Her relationships with the current players will allow her to be a tremendous asset in her new role. She is highly respected and I could not be happier to have her continuing on the team as our graduate assistant.”

A 6-0 setter, Barclay transferred to Nicholls from Dodge City Community College in 2013. She played in 81 matches and 280 sets over her time as a Colonel and finished with 1547 assists, 175 digs, 106 blocks and 61 kills to her credit. Barclay earned a career-high 12 digs against the University of Houston and set a career-high with 47 assists against Louisiana-Lafayette. She tied her career-high with four kills against Northwestern State and tied a career-high five blocks against Abilene Christian. Barclay is eighth all-time in career assists and 14th all-time in assists per set.
