Amanda Murphy

Amanda Murphy joins the Nicholls women’s volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant after finishing her collegiate career at Gardner-Webb.

In her final season at GWU, Murphy was a member of the program’s first winning Division I season with 15 wins overall. She is in the school's top five all-time for hitting percentage and finished second on the team in aces, second in blocks and fifth in kills during her senior season.

A native of Houston, Texas, Murphy attended Living Stones Christian school and was a three-time first-team all-state selection. She led her team to two TAPPS 1A state championships and was named the district MVP her senior season. Murphy was the salutatorian for her high school graduating class and a four-year member of the honor roll.

The daughter of Kevin and Kristy Murphy, she has one younger brother Matthew and is currently pursuing her master's degree at Nicholls.
