Greg Carrasquillo

Greg Carrasquillo was hired as head strength and conditioning coach at Nicholls in July of 2013 after spending the last year at his alma mater as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Springfield (Mass.) College.

Carrasquillo, who earned a bachelor's and master's from Springfield,  has worked with major FBS programs and in the National Football League during his career, as well as serving as a personal trainer sports performance coach.

At SC, Carrasquillo was the strength and conditioning coach for football, men's soccer and women's gymnastics, along with the sprinters and jumpers for the track and field team. He implemented all aspects of training for the teams, while teaching Olympic and core lifts, designing programs for injured players and overseeing the interns and student workers.

Before returning to Springfield, he worked at the University of Southern California as a volunteer assistant with the football, men's water polo and women's soccer programs. Carrasquillo implemented the summer training regiments for the teams, assisting in warmups and teaching proper technique.

In July of 2011, Carrasquillo became an assistant for the New York Jets organization, where he helped implement an in-season training program, participated in evaluation of athletes and aided players through corrective exercises. He assisted with rehab of injured players and helped develop the postseason manual, while educating the athletes on nutrition.

Carrasquillo was a volunteer strength and conditioning coach at LSU, working with the Tiger football team during the summer with workouts and athlete rehabilitation. Before that, he was a volunteer coach at the University of Connecticut, working specifically with the football program.

Upon graduating from college, Carrasquillo volunteered at Holy Cross with all of the varsity sports. He also had stints with the University of Massachusetts and at Harvard with the football, men's lacrosse and women's hockey programs. Along with designing strength and conditioning programs, he implemented workouts and assisted with NFL Pro Days.

Carrasquillo is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He holds certifications in CPR/AED and with the USA Weightlifting organization as a USA-W Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
