Summer Morgan was hired as the Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator for Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in May 2019.
Morgan serves as the recruiting coordinator for the Colonels as well as the the primary position coach for middle blockers and hitters, overseeing team blocking fundamentals. Previously, she served as a graduate assistant with the Texas State volleyball program, acting as the Director of Operations for the Bobcats while simultaneously working on her graduate degree in interdisciplinary studies with the university.
Across Morgan's two years with Texas State, the Bobcats posted back-to-back strong seasons on the hardwood, securing consecutive regular season Sun Belt titles, the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship and a spot in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round for the first time in program history.
Prior to her GA position with Texas State, Morgan competed for two seasons at the University of Memphis (2015-16), logging 65 matches during her time as a Tiger where she totaled 465 kills, 255 blocks, 68 digs, 17 assists and 14 aces. She was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
The Springdale, Arkansas native spent her first three collegiate campaigns with the University of Arkansas (2012-14), leading the Razorbacks to the 2012 NCAA Championship First Round. Statistically, she impressed across 36 total matches, compiling 93 kills, 78 blocks, 15 digs and four aces.
Morgan received a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Memphis in December 2016 and a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State in May 2019.
