2014 (Sophomore): Played in six matches with one start and 12 sets played during her sophomore campaign with the Colonels... Finished the year with seven kills, six digs, three assists and two service aces... Had seasons highs in digs (six), kills (four) and assists (two) against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Oct. 23.

2013 (Freshman): Played in 26 matches and 94 sets in her first season with the Colonels, earning 25 starts on the year... Finished the year with 302 kills, 147 digs, 25 blocks, 32 service aces and 17 assists... Accumulated 347.5 points on the season... Had a season-high 23 kills against McNeese on Nov. 16... Had 13 digs on Stephen F. Austin on Oct. 10.

Prior to Nicholls:

At Keller High School: Played every position on the court in high school, earning all-district honors as a senior in 2012 and winning a team title at a tournament in San Marcos... Although primarily an outside hitter, saw time at setter when a teammate went down to injury... As a member of her Texas Image club team, won a team title at a tournament in Las Vegas in the spring, while qualifying for the national tournament in 2010 and 2011... Was on the B Honor Roll, volunteering her time instructing youth volleyball players and with special needs kids through cooking classes, the Keep Keller Clean committee and a member of the student council.

Personal: Full name is Kayla Brianne Mashburn, born Sept. 27 in Fort Worth, Texas... Daughter of Jason Mashburn and Sara and Kevin Kittrell... Has three siblings in Jase Mashburn, Kylee Kittrell and Kameron Kittrell... Majoring in business.
