Nicholls State University

2012 (Freshman): Began her Nicholls career playing in 15 matches with four starts as a freshman in 31 sets played... Finished second on the team with 117 assists for a 3.77 assist per game average... Had four kills, two aces, four blocks ad 43 digs on the year... Had three matches with double figure assists, serving up a career best 35 against UT Martin Sept. 8 to go along with ten digs for her first double-double... Had ten digs in the next match against UALR... Had two blocks against UNO Sept. 11. 

Prior to Nicholls:

At Mt. Carmel Academy: Completed a stellar career for the Cubs with her second state runner-up finish in Division I as a senior, where the team captain was a first team all state selection, district MVP, pre and postseason all-metro and named to the East squad for the LHSCA All-Star game... Won four district championships, making the LHSAA volleyball finals in three of those years, winning the state title in 2010. 

Personal: Full name is Marlee Jordyn Bean, born on September 28 in Metarie... Parents are David and Melanie Bean... Mother Melanie played volleyball at Nicholls from 1980-84, with 71 services aces in a season which is the fourth-most in Nicholls history and is an assistant coach at Mt. Carmel, while older brother Garrett played at Nicholls in 2009.
