The Colonels are coming off of their fourth road win of the season, defeating the McNeese State Cowgirls in Lake Charles in four sets on Tuesday night. Nicholls has won its last four matches over McNeese State dating back to last season, and is now 10-14 on the year and 5-8 in Southland Conference matches.
Just two weeks ago, the Colonels traveled to take on both teams, as the Colonels fell in four sets to SFA, while losing in three to Northwestern State. The two teams enter this week tied for fourth place with 8-4 conference records, as the Lady Demons have won their last four matches and SFA has their last two.
Nicholls has lost its last three against Northwestern State, with another loss making it one of the longest losing streaks the Colonels have had against the Lady Demons in recent history, with the longest being six consecutive from the 2005 to 2007 season.
SFA has won four of the last five meetings with the Colonels dating back to 2009, but the Colonels have one edge in that the last time the two teams met in Thibodaux back in 2010, Nicholls defeated the Ladyjacks in five sets.
