LAFAYETTE, La. –
Hannah Naquin and
Peter Alleman earned personal records on Friday to help lead the Nicholls State University cross-country teams at the Ragin' Cajun Invitational.
The event, held at the scenic Acadiana Park, was the final tune-up for the Red and Grey before they head to the Southland Conference Championships.
Naquin led the women and had the highest finish of any Colonel at the meet, placing ninth in the 5k, with a time of 19:48.7. Naquin averaged 6:22.6 per mile en route to a personal record.
Brice Davis was the next finisher for the women's team, coming in 14
th, with a time of 22:00.2.
Terrian Gauff (24:52.8),
Rachante Colebrook (25:30.3) and
Ieisha Taylor (31:03.8) crossed 16
th, 17
th and 18
th respectively.
Lakeisha Taylor rounded out the finishes for the Nicholls women, taking 19
th with a time of 37:22.6.
Alleman headlined the men's team, crossing with an outstanding time of 29:03.2 in the five-mile run. Alleman averaged 5:48.6 per mile on his way to a personal record.
Jake Lee finished second for the Colonel men, running a 32:12.7 and taking 27
th place. Stefon Naquin crossed just off of Lee's time, running a 33:05.9 to finish 28
th.
Nicholls will face the SLC Championships on Friday, Oct. 30 in Huntsville, Texas.
