HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team wrapped up the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at The Links at Novadell on Tuesday with a third-round score of 285 to finish in seventh place out of 11 teams.
 
For the event, the Colonels finished with a 855 (289-281-285), just four strokes behind fifth place Murray State and two back of New Orleans. Belmont claimed the team title with an 832.
 
Despite his highest score in the tournament, freshman Jack Lee secured his third top 10 finish in as many tournaments after his 73 (+1) put him at 209 (-7), good for a tie for eighth in the individual standings. Ben Reeves and Hunter Richardson, both from UT-Martin, shared the individual crown with 203s (-13).
 
Nicholls was led in the final round by Peyton McCulloch and Chad Watts-Denyes, who each carded 70s (-2). Tye Smith shot a 72 (E), while Josh Fullilove finished with a 74 (+2).
 
With back-to-back 70s, McCulloch put together the second best score for Nicholls in the event, shooting a 216. Watts-Denyes came in at 217, Smith finished with a 220 and Fullilove carded a 223. Lee paced the team with 12 birdies.
 
Nicholls will close out the fall schedule next week in Gulf Shores, Ala. in the ASU Fall Beach Classic, starting Sunday, Oct. 25.
