Nicholls Golf Earns Team Academic Award, Two Golfers Named All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team was recognized for its success in the classroom as the Colonels received the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to the team honor, Jack Moro and Chase Pochylko were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. 

Nicholls garnered All-Academic Team after posting a team 3.27 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year. A GCAA-record 292 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. 

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Moro had a 3.65 GPA as a business administration major while having a 74.2 stroke average. Pochylko sported a 3.71 GPA in finance and ended the season with a 74.3 stroke average.  

599 NCAA Division I athletes from 204 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
