Results GULF SHORES, Ala. – After the second round was canceled Monday due to weather, the Nicholls State University men's golf team put a stamp on its fall schedule as it wrapped up the ASU Fall Beach Classic with a 297 on Tuesday at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.
Despite shaving 10 strokes off of their score from Sunday, the Colonels slide down to last place in the 11-team field, finishing with a 604. Host Arkansas State won the team title with a 582, followed by Auburn at 584.
Freshman
Jack Lee led Nicholls in the final round with a 69 (-3), which was the second lowest score of any golfer in the classic. Lee sank seven birdies on Tuesday to finish with a 148, good for a tie for 16th in the individual standings.
Peyton McCulloch also shot a 148 in the two rounds after carding a 74 (+2) in the final round.
Chad Watts-Denyes shot a 78 to finish third on the team with a 152, while
Josh Fullilove and
Albert Badosa-Soler each shot a 158. Fullilove finished with a 76 on Tuesday and Badosa-Soler shot a 78.
The Colonels will have the winter off before returning to the links on Feb. 22 as they host the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate.
